Resin Bound Stones Driveway in Melbourne

Beautifying Melbourne Homes With Resin Bound Stone Driveways

Driveways in Melbourne are much more than just a functional space. Melbournians make the best of driveways. From spending time together, playing catch, and even just washing your car.

While there are different driveway materials, such as concrete, gravel, and natural stone, nothing compares to a resin-bound stone driveway. The aesthetics, P5 slip rating, durability, and ease of maintenance make it a popular choice.

Especially in Melbourne’s weather, where the sun shines bright and sporadic showers wet your driveways, you need a paving material that is strong and resilient. The Pebble-Mix Company has been offering driveway resurfacing services to homes in Melbourne and surrounding suburbs for many years.

Resin-bound paving is the procedure of applying resin-bound stones to the driveway. A resin-bound paving material is a mixture of small aggregate stones and polyurethane resin.  Resin-bound paving is installed by hand trowelling the product. This ensures consistency and visual appeal along with a smooth, uniform driveway.

What Are The Benefits of a Resin-Bound Driveway?

No one likes to walk or drive through driveways filled with puddles. It is not just about inconvenience, but also safety. Puddles damage driveway surfaces, leading to potholes and cracks.

This, in turn, can damage your car’s tyres and increases the risk of slips and falls when someone is walking. Resin-bound driveways are permeable and boast a P5 slip rating, the highest available rating as per Australian standards. Meaning, they allow water to pass through easily.

When it comes to durability, resin-bound stone driveways are among the best options. The permeability, flexibility to accommodate thermal expansions and contractions, and exceptional strength ensure long-term durability. The strong bond between resin and aggregate pebbles ensures resistance to cracks and wear and tear.

Whether it’s cleaning, maintaining or repairing, resin-bound stone driveways far surpass their competitors. The ease of cleaning and maintenance makes resin-bound stone driveways a practical option.

Gravel and concrete driveways are prone to cracks and damage. They demand frequent and sometimes expensive repairs. On the other hand, occasional power washing and sealing are all that is needed to keep the resin-bound stone driveways clean and in exceptional condition.

Our Process and Preparation

Our streamlined driveway resurfacing process is designed to enhance efficiency. Here is a detailed breakdown of our driveway resurface process, first, we will install Aluminium trim around the perimeter of the driveway, then install diminishing ramps at the entrance, once that is complete and cracks are ground out and filled with a flexible filler then fibre mesh is laid over any crack, then the whole area is covered in fibre mesh, ready for Pebble-mix to be laid.

Assessment
